A great time to catch up with friends and relatives, eat lots of treats without feeling guilty, go out on wintry walks and spend some quality time with the children.

Christmas is fast becoming one of the best times of the year to advertise your house, as shown by Rightmove's analytics from the last few years. There's a definite dip on Christmas Day, thank goodness. I would hate to think the nation were all on their screens when Father Christmas had just delivered, but from Boxing Day to New Year's Eve we're seeing a hefty increase of online traffic.

For those looking ahead for what 2019 will bring perhaps the free time between Christmas and New Year is perfect for browsing future, dream homes. 

After another dip on New Year's Eve the traffic carries on increasing with an astounding 38 million page views per day on Rightmove last year in the first week of January.
